The Lays of Beleriand
In the first part of this book is given the Lay of the Children of Húrin by John Ronald Reuel Tolkien in which is set forth in part the Tale of Túrin. In the second part is the Lay of Leithian which is the Gest of Beren and Lúthien as far as the encounter of Beren with Carcharoth at the Gate of Angband.

1. The Lay of the Children of Húrin
•Reproduces two pages from the original manuscript.
•Includes the text of the poem Light as Leaf on Lindentree (published in a slightly different form in The Gryphon)
•Also includes two versions of a portion of the lay that was developed separately - the first is untitled, while the second is called Winter Comes to Nargothrond.
•Lastly, there is a further untitled poem that develops another part of the lay.

3. The Lay of Leithian•Includes a commentary on the lay by C.S. Lewis.
•Also includes a reproduction of a manuscript page in elvish script.
