David Kushner is an award-winning journalist and author. Historia Grand Theft Auto i studia Rockstar w końcu u nas. Za książkę odpowiada David Kushner. Za marką GTA ciągną się wieczne kontrowersje, polityczne wojenki i o tym właśnie jest to książka. Takie rzeczy mogły wydarzyć się tylko w US, państwie, w którym bez problemu kupimy karabin. Gdy broń zabije człowieka, nie ma problemu, ale już gra to kontrowersje. Wraz z lekturą człowiek coraz bardziej uświadamia sobie fakt, jak głupie jest to społeczeństwo.
O kontrowersjach,związanych z tą serią gier wiedziałem, a o niektórych dowiedziałem się po raz pierwszy. Książka ma ok 300 stron, ale strasznie męczy. Całość możnaby upchnąć w 80 stronach, ale ciągłe tak zwane "lanie wody" i rozwlekanie doprowadziło do takiej objętości.
Dla graczy, miłośników studia Rockstar jest to pozycja wręcz obowiązkowa. Dla reszty już nie tak bardzo.

To nie jest tylko książka o ludziach, którzy stworzyli Dooma, oni również stworzyli Wolfensteina 3D, pierwszą grę w którą grałam na zajęciach z informatyki jeszcze w podstawówce. Jest to książka o latach 90 początkach Windowsa 95 z Direct X, gier jako turniejów, a przede wszystkim o powstaniu, rozkwicie i upadku firmy. No i o tym, że nawet sławne nazwisko nie gwarantuje, że kolejna gra, będzie sukcesem.
