Armando Lucas Correa is a Cuban writer, journalist and editor who resides in New York. His first novel, The German Girl (Atria Books, Simon & Schuster),is an international bestseller that has been translated to fourteen languages and published in more than twenty countries. His second novel, The Daughter's Tale (Atria Books, Simon & Schuster) was published on May 7, 2019. The Night Travelerswill be published January 10th, 2023. His first book In Search of Emma: Two Fathers, One Daughter and the Dream of a Family (Rayo, Harper Collins) was published in 2009. A revised and updated edition with a new introduction by the author, and in English for the first time was published October 12th, 2021 by Harper One.
Correa is the recipient of various outstanding achievement awards from the National Association of Hispanic Publications and the Society of Professional Journalists. Most recently, he was recognized by AT&T with The Humanity of Connection Award and as the Journalist of the Year by the Hispanic Public Relations Association of New York
In Cuba, he entered the world of print journalism in 1988 when he was appointed the editor of Tablas, a national theater and dance magazine based out of Havana.
His career as an American journalist started in 1991 in El Nuevo Herald, The Miami Herald Spanish edition newspaper. He moved to New York in 1997, to work as a senior writer at People en Español magazine and was the brand’s Editor in Chief since 2007 until 2022.
He is a graduate of The University of Arts in Cuba (Instituto Superior de Arte) and has a postgraduate degree in journalism from the University of Havana.

Wybieraliśmy się na malutką wysepkę, która szczyciła się tym, że jest największa na całych Karaibach. Drobinka ziemi między Amerykami Północną i Południową. I tylko ta drobinka ziemi chciała nas przegarnąć.
To bardzo dobra powieść, ponieważ przybliża mało znaną tematykę, stawiającą zresztą niektóre państwa w złym świetle. Czy ktoś z czytelników zastanowił się, dlaczego niemiecka Żydówka nazywana jest na Kubie "Polaczka"? To polscy Żydzi, emigrując z kraju, który przez setki lat okazywał im niespotykaną gdzie indziej gościnność, przedstawiali siebie jako Polaków, bo nimi się też czuli, nieświadomie utkali stereotyp, że Polak to Żyd. Niesamowite, prawda? Więc niech mi nikt bajek nie opowiada o rzekomym antysemityzmie Polaków. Co do literackiej wartości tekstu - ocena byłaby trochę niższa, ale i tak uważam, że książkę warto przeczytać.
Czytając nie wiedziałam, że historia jest oparta na faktach, więc tym bardziej jest wstrząsająca i bolesna. Dobrze jest poznać kolejny, mniej znany fragment historii tj. losy niemieckich Żydów. O tym podręczniki raczej nie mówią. Oceniłam dosyć nisko, bo mimo przejmującej historii czytało mi się ciężko, a tego typu książki potrafią pochłaniać bez reszty. Tej czegoś zabrakło.
