SALVATION HAS A PRICE.
An enthralling murder mystery with a vividly realised future world, forcing readers to grapple hard hitting questions about the climate crisis, our relationship with Artificial Intelligence and the price we would be willing to pay, as a species, to be saved. Perfect for fans of Blake Crouch, Neal Stephenson, Philip K Dick, Kim Stanley Robinson and RR Haywood.
It's 2050, a decade after a heatwave that killed four hundred million across the Persian Gulf, including journalist Marcus Tully's wife. Now he must uncover the truth: was the disaster natural? Or is the weather now a weapon of genocide?
A whistleblower pulls Tully into a murder investigation at the centre of an election battle for a global dictator, with a mandate to prevent a climate apocalypse. A former US President campaigns against the first AI politician of the position, but someone is trying to sway the outcome.
Tully must convince the world to face the truth and make hard choices about the future of the species. But will humanity ultimately choose salvation over freedom, whatever the cost?

OPINIE i DYSKUSJE o książce Artificial Wisdom
" [...] The lives of a few to save the lives of many. [...]"
"Artificial Wisdom" is the latest novel by Thomas R. Weaver. This book is a spy thriller. I met a lot of interesting characters there, including: Marcus Tully, Martha, Livia, October and Solomon.
Solomon is an artificial intelligence created by Martha. Solomon is taking part in the elections for the dictator of nation states. The question immediately arises: would you like your country to be ruled by an artificial creature? Is it better to put the government in the hands of humans? In my opinion, artificial intelligence is not allowed to rule the world, country, state or even city. Where someone like Solomon is in power, there will be no freedom, only enslavement. I wouldn't vote for Solomon. Who will be his opponent? Who will become the dictator? You will find this out when you read the latest work by Thomas R. Weaver. I will write right away that "Artificial Wisdom" is worth reading.
Will this author's vision come true? I hope not, because woe is with us.
Marcus Tully lost his wife in 2040 in Kuwait. She was pregnant. 10 years have passed since this tragic event, and he still has not come to terms with the loss. He is an investigative journalist. He will play a very important role in this book. Should he trust everyone? I liked this character.
Martha and Livia are sisters. Martha is a very wise woman who invented Solomon. Was her project successful? Who did she offend that led to her murder? Was it an accidental death or a deliberate act? Livia is Martha's younger sister. She is also very intelligent. She runs on the Internet like a deer in a clearing. Will she discover who is really behind what happened to her sister? Who will be her true friend and who will be her enemy?
I really enjoyed the investigation conducted by Commander October, the chief security officer of New Carthage. Will he discover the conspiracy in time before it's too late?
Solomon, as you already know, is an artificial intelligence. He is also the governor of New Carthage. He dreams of becoming a dictator. Why? Is it worth trusting him?
I also met other characters worth attention. You will discover them for yourself by reading the contents of this book.
I am delighted with nanobots and perfumed pills. Such pills make life easier, but they are also very dangerous.
What happened to Marcus' wife? Could this have been prevented? Who is fully responsible for this? Will this hero find peace?
I am delighted with this novel, but I would not like this vision to come true.
This story brought tears to my eyes. It's very exciting.
I found plot twists here that blew me away. After finishing this book, I secretly hope that there will be a sequel. I am very curious about what will happen next: Marcus, Livi and October.
I forgot to add that the time of action is mainly the year 2050. The places of action are literally the whole world.
The beautiful cover is also worth attention. It seems so simple, but there is something about it that makes it impossible to take your eyes off it.
If, like me, you like spy thrillers where at some point you don't know who you can trust, then read "Artificial Wisdom". Thomas R. Weaver does an excellent job of building suspense. Emotions do not subside after reading the last page.
This book is worth recommending.
Ps.
Despite its large volume, it is a very quick read because it draws you in from the very first page.
