John R. Bruning

John Bruning, Jr. is a military historian, author and consultant who lives in Independence Oregon. In addition to The Devil’s Sandbox, he is the author of Crimson Sky: The Air Battle for Korea; Jungle Ace; Elusive Glory; Ship Strike Pacific; and Luck of the Draw. He served as the only embedded civilian historian in National Guard history during Operation Southern Comfort, the post-Hurricane Katrina relief operation in New Orleans.
